Cranleigh Preparatory School

By Mark Kebble on December 10th 2011

Cranleigh Preparatory School is a perfect blend of traditional and modern, standing in its own beautiful grounds (only 20 minutes from the centre of Guildford), with an excellent range of facilities and a breadth of opportunities that enables everyone to shine at something.

During the first three years the curriculum is based on a creative/inquiry approach giving way to a Common Entrance focused curriculum by Year 6. Academic Awards won each year to Cranleigh School and other top public schools.

There is a strong emphasis on outdoor education and there are 40 sports/activities available, offering genuine sport for all with excellence at the top end. Girls are current IAPS National Under 13 Hockey Champions.  Pupils also gain all-rounder/sports awards to Cranleigh School and a variety of top public schools. Artistic and musical/dramatic abilities are encouraged and nurtured with Art and Music scholarships to senior schools achieved each year and, under the guidance of a former West End lead,  seven music/drama productions throughout the year.

An excellent pastoral care system supports a thriving day and boarding community. Life for the children is busy and fun – an atmosphere where they learn, play and develop in a happy and caring atmosphere

A maximum number of 307 children enables classes to be small and focused.

Cranleigh Preparatory recognises and celebrates good behaviour, achievement and success, which gives the children a sense of purpose and the ambition to fulfil their goals. 70–75% of pupils go on to Cranleigh School with the remainder going to other top public schools in the country. Year on year a third of pupils achieve an award to their Senior School.

Open Morning Saturday 3rd March 10am – 12 noon.

Main entry points at 7+ and 11+ and intervening years if places available. For further information contact Fiona Bundock 01483 542051 fmjb@cranprep.org    www.cranprep.org
