Getting a little carried away

10th August 2010 14:52:06

Sometimes, when interviewing someone in the public eye, you find yourself getting carried away. You babble on, enthusiastically picking up speed, before realising that you’ve lost your celeb counterpart or they just aren’t listening any more. I felt that way interviewing David Morrissey yesterday.

I think David is an actor at the top of his game. Unluckily for him, he’s either starred in or going to feature in something that I hold very dearly. He very nearly became the next Doctor Who – if all the hype over the Christmas special was to be believed – then he starred in the fabulous Red Riding trilogy (I am currently reading the first of the books, 1974, so got a little excited about that), and he soon will be on our screens as Tom Thorne, the character created by a favourite author of mine, Mark Billingham. That’s a lot to get excited about – and I hope I didn’t burn David’s ear off too much. That’s one of our great interviews in the September issue, out on August 29.
