Joining forces with the Little Angel Theatre

My first experience of puppets was watching The Dark Crystal – and, quite frankly, it terrified me. The Little Angel Theatre – a warm, welcoming space – couldn’t be any further away from those ‘peering from behind the sofa’ days and, whenever I have been there to witness a performance, I have been blown away by the craftsmanship on show.

 

I am writing this a day after a meeting at the theatre to discuss their impending 50th anniversary in 2011. I was granted a quick tour by Lynette Shanbury, the general manager there, and saw work under way in their workshop for the forthcoming Alice in Wonderland production. I am so enamoured by what they do there that Angel magazine will be celebrating Little Angel Theatre’s anniversary in some style – watch this space...
